Welcome. I am Jana Marie, the heart behind Sanctuary, a sacred wellbeing space nestled in Riverton, New Zealand. I created this space as a sanctuary in the truest sense of the word: a place where you can arrive exactly as you are, shed the busyness, and simply exhale.
My passion is guiding you back to yourself through the healing arts of Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Indian Head Massage, reflexology and Integrative Wellbeing Coaching. Each offering is crafted to invite your nervous system into deep rest, and to help you unlock the self mastery that already lives within you.
I am also the host of the Lush Ground Podcast, where deep truths become embodied wisdom. Join me as we dive into the pulse of what really matters... the raw, the messy and the beautifully human.
What Awaits You
Each offering is designed to meet you where you are and gently return you to the wholeness that is your birthright.
A completely passive, prop supported practice that invites your body and mind into profound rest. Gentle poses held for extended periods release deep muscular tension.
Yogic sleep. An ancient meditation technique that guides you to the threshold between waking and sleeping, where healing happens at a cellular level.
Indian Head Massage is an ancient Ayurvedic treatment which aims to release stress in a gentle, yet powerful, therapy. The inclusion of chakra balancing and pressure points helps to balance the subtle energy body and promotes stress release and healing.
In person and online coaching to help you unlock your self mastery skills. A holistic approach weaving together mind, body and spirit to support your most expansive life.

Integrative Wellbeing Coaching is a holistic approach to personal transformation that honours the whole of you: mind, body and spirit. Drawing on somatic awareness, mindset work and soulful inquiry, Jana guides you to reconnect with your innate wisdom and unlock the self mastery that already lives within you.
Sessions are available in person or online. Whether you are navigating a life transition, seeking deeper fulfilment, or simply ready to live more fully, this coaching is for you.

Unlike more active forms of yoga that focus on strengthening and stretching, Restorative Yoga emphasises rest and stillness. By relaxing our muscles, lowering our heart rate, and allowing our nervous system to slow down, Restorative Yoga helps us to balance our fast paced lifestyles.
As we find stillness in the pose we allow for healing, both physically and mentally, which ultimately supports us in being more focused and effective. Restorative Yoga is accessible to people of all ages and skill levels.
All props are provided: yoga mats, bolsters, blocks, lavender eye pillows, blankets and pillows.
✦ Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra literally means yogic sleep. It is an ancient meditation technique where practitioners enter a deeper state of conscious relaxation, moving awareness from the external world to the internal.
In this dreamless state, brain activity reduces and the body enters a healing state, removing toxins at a cellular level, refreshing the mind, and eliminating emotional baggage from the subconscious. You access delta brainwaves, the same restorative waves activated during deep sleep, while remaining awake.
Yoga Nidra also activates the pineal gland, described as the Seat of the Soul, connected to clarity, concentration, imagination and intuition.

Everything You Need to Know
Wear anything you can move and rest in while staying warm and cozy. Pyjamas are welcome. All props are provided. Bring your water bottle.
Restorative Yoga is accessible to all ages and skill levels. No prior yoga experience needed. If you can lie down and breathe, you can do this.
You lie down and are guided by Jana's voice through a body scan and visualisation. Most people feel profoundly rested and often cannot tell if they were awake or asleep. You will feel deeply restored afterwards.
